Times Square Gets Its First Indoor Pickleball Paradise

The crossroads of the world just got a new attraction. CityPickle is opening its massive flagship location right in the heart of Times Square.
Where Broadway Meets Backhands
Picture this: 37,000 square feet of pure pickleball playground in the iconic Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway. That’s what CityPickle is bringing to Times Square this February. Seven pickleball courts, a full bar and restaurant, and countless amenities in New York City’s most iconic indoor location. The space sits where legends like Sinatra and Elvis once performed. Now it’s all about paddles and points. The flagship location opens in mid-February 2026, marking CityPickle’s first year-round Manhattan club.
More Than Just Courts
This isn’t your average sports facility. World-class Rebound Ace court surfaces deliver cushioned comfort with outstanding bounce. 18-foot ceilings and broad court margins ensure ample space for the most advanced player. Digital scoreboards and video replays further elevate the playing experience. Beyond the courts, you’ll find a courtside full-service bar and restaurant, where the cocktails are crisp, bites are delicious, and the vibes are as strong as your serve. Need to mix business with your backhand? Three glass-walled conference rooms double as private event spaces, making them perfect for post-match meetings, birthday parties, or a team celebration.
The Membership Game
Only 120 memberships will be offered in 2026, making this one of the most exclusive sports clubs in the city. Limited spots available — become a CityPickle Times Square member and unlock priority access, special pricing, and member-only experiences. But don’t worry if you miss out on membership. The facility welcomes all players, though members get the VIP treatment. Peak court rental runs $130 per hour, with 2-hour open play sessions at $65 per player.
Riding America’s Hottest Sports Wave
CityPickle’s Times Square gamble makes perfect sense when you look at the numbers. For the fourth consecutive year, pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the U.S. In 2024, 19.8 million Americans participated in pickleball, a 45.8% increase from the 2023 figure and an incredible 311% increase from three years ago. CityPickle said the majority of its over 2,000 bookings this year have been corporate. Corporate off-sites, team bonding, and client events have become a major revenue driver. The location near Midtown offices and major subway lines isn’t accidental.
Beyond the Big Apple
Times Square is just the beginning. CityPickle has been awarded a 20-year license to operate pickleball courts at Wollman Rink in Central Park during non-ice skating seasons. A 20-year home in the world’s most iconic park speaks to pickleball’s popularity and reflects New York City’s commitment to accessible recreation for all. The company plans to open additional venues, including CityPickle Brooklyn Bridge and a massive 25-court Boca Paddle by CityPickle complex in South Florida in 2026. From backyard curiosity to Times Square spectacle, pickleball has officially arrived.
