Queens Husband, 75, Arrested for Murdering Wife Whose Body Was Found in Two Parks

A 75-year-old man was charged with killing his 34-year-old wife from Trinidad, whose dismembered remains were discovered scattered across Queens parks months apart.

A Grisly Discovery Months Apart

The case began unfolding last September when sanitation workers made a horrific discovery near JFK Airport. Stuffed inside a garbage bag at Idlewild Park, they found the decomposed torso of a woman, wrapped in tape and rope. The remains were missing the head, arms, and legs – but distinctive tattoos would prove crucial to identification.

Six months later, on March 5, investigators found the victim’s head at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, about 10 miles from the first scene. The discovery confirmed what detectives had feared: they were dealing with a calculated murder and dismemberment.

The Suspect: A Much Older Husband

Rupchand Simboo, 75, was arrested Wednesday morning at his South Ozone Park home and charged with murdering his wife, Salisha Ali, 34. The couple had a 40-year age gap that raised eyebrows from the start.

According to police sources, Simboo and Ali met in 2023 while she was still living in Trinidad and Tobago. They maintained a long-distance relationship until she moved to Queens in 2024, where they eventually married.

The Last FaceTime Call

Ali was last seen alive on July 13, 2025, during a FaceTime call with family members. That same day, Simboo filed a missing person report – a move investigators now view as suspicious timing.

The young woman from Trinidad had been working at a restaurant in Queens and training to become a home health aide. She spoke daily with her mother and three daughters back home. When those calls suddenly stopped, her family grew worried.

‘She was working hard to build a new life here,’ a family friend told investigators. The couple lived together in a modest two-family house, but the relationship dynamics remain under investigation.

Forensic Evidence Points to Premeditation

The medical examiner’s findings paint a disturbing picture. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, forensic analysis revealed that ‘straight edge instruments, such as a knife was used to cut through the soft tissue, and some sort of saw was used to cut through the bone.’

This level of dismemberment suggests premeditation and access to tools. The fact that body parts were scattered across two different locations, miles apart, indicates a deliberate attempt to prevent identification and disposal of evidence.

A Pattern of Violence

Simboo wasn’t unknown to law enforcement. He had a prior arrest in October 2025 for misdemeanor assault of a stranger during a dispute on Liberty Avenue in Ozone Park.

Beyond the murder charge, Simboo now faces additional counts of obstructing governmental administration and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. His arraignment was pending as of Wednesday afternoon.

Questions About Immigration and Motive

Some reports suggest the case may involve immigration-related complications. Sources indicate Ali may have been involved in what investigators are examining as a potential immigration marriage arrangement.

The exact circumstances of the murder – including when and where it took place – remain under investigation. What’s clear is that a young woman who came to America seeking a better life met a tragic end at the hands of the man who was supposed to protect her.

As this case moves through the courts, it serves as another grim reminder of how domestic violence can escalate to unthinkable extremes, particularly when there are significant power imbalances in relationships.
